Camden City Council Tuesday evening passed first reading of a couple of ordinances that could result in the city purchasing a historic collection of guns and firearms currently on display at the Camden Archives. The first ordinance authorizes the city to issue hospitality tax revenue bonds for projects and the second ordinances provides for the issuance of $700,000 in bonds for the purchase of the Ross Beard gun collection being displayed at the Camden Archives. Both measures passed with four yes votes and one no vote. Councilman Willard Polk cast the lone dissenting vote. Both measures face one more reading before becoming final.
