Late last week Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office narcotics officer Sarrested 34 year old Caleb Parson of Cassatt and charged him with trafficking in heroin. Sheriff Jim Matthews says officerS had been investigating a heroin distribution ring in the Cassatt area for several months. Last Friday sheriff’s office drug officers conducted a traffic stop near East Camden. The driver of the vehicle advised deputies that he had just picked parson and his girlfriend up in Columbia and that they had just arrived from Philadelphia. Officers knew that parson travelled to Philadelphia where he would purchase heroin to bring back to Kershaw county. Parson was found in possession of what appeared to be mexican heroin. He was arrested at the scene. The driver and the female passenger were not arrested. Parson was placed in the Kershaw County Detention Centre. According to Matthews Parson has multiple previous arrests for narcotics violations.
