Camden City Council Gives Final Approval to Purchase of Gun Collection

Camden City Council earlier this week passed second and final reading of a couple of ordinances that will result in the city purchasing the historic Ross Beard gun collection for the Camden Archives.  The first ordinance provides for the issuance of hospitality tax bonds for various projects and the second ordinance  provides for the city to issue $700,000 in hospitality tax bonds for the purpose of purchasing the gun collection which has been on display at the Camden Archives.  Both measure passed with four to one votes with councilman Willard Polk casting the no votes.
