The board of directors of what is called the Kershaw County Facilities corporation held its organizational meeting last week. Elected president was Dennis Stuber and elected secretary was Ben Connell. The corporation is a body set up to facilitate a financing plan for county projects including an upgrade of the Kershaw County Detention Centre, county recreational facilities and additions to the Central Carolina Technical College campus in Camden. The county plans to issue $8.5 million in installment purchase revenue bonds for the projects. County administrator Vic Carpenter says there will be no tax increase and that existing revenue will be used to pay off the bonds.
