First Baptist Camden and Rec Department Teaching Kids to Swim

The Kershaw County R ecreation Department and First Baptist Church Camden  teamed up this week to provide swimming lessons to 14 kids who attend FBC’s urban stars group, part of FBC Camden’s urban missions ministry.  Kids ages 7-14 learned to swim at the rec dept’s pool on Battleship Road in Camden.  The rec dept rewarded each participant with a pool membership for the remainder of the 2014 pool season for completing the course!  “Swimming is a life saving skill which many of our kids wouldn’t have had the opportunity to learn without the rec dept’s help” said KOOL 102.7’s Patty Rose, director of the urban missions ministry at FBC. “Thanks to Joe Eason, Amy Peebles and all at the Kershaw County Recreation Department who made the swimming lessons possible”.
