Sports Update For July 28 2014

This past Saturday in American Legion baseball the Camden Post 17 senior team knocked off Rock Hill 7-3 in the first round of the State Tournament in Sumter. Sunday in round two Camden fell to Inman 10-9 in ten innings.

This afternoon on Kool 102.7 at 12:45 it’s American Legion baseball as the Camden Post 17 senior team will face Chapin-Newberry in an elimination game.

Last night in Major League baseball the Atlanta Braves beat the San Diego Padres 8-3.

Camden Middle School will have football tryout for any 7th and 8th graders who are interested in playing on Aug. 11at 4pm. Students must have a physical and a concussion form filled out in order to tryout. Tryouts will wrap up by 7:00 and students can be picked up at the bus circle.

August 15th High school football returns to Kershaw County for the 2014 Camden Shrine Club Jamboree out at Zemp Stadium. Eight teams will compete in two ten minute quarters; in the first game starting at 6:30 Lee Central takes on Andrew Jackson. Then it’s North Central battling Buford followed by Lugoff Elgin versus A.C. Flora and in the night cap the Camden High Bulldogs host the Ridge View Blazers.
