Sports Update For July 29 2014

In American Legion baseball yesterday afternoon the Camden Post 17 senior team knocked off Chapin-Newberry 7-3 to stay alive in the American Legion State Tournament. Greyson King was the winning pitcher.

Tonight on Kool 102.7 at 5:15 it’s American Legion baseball as the Camden Post 17 senior team will face Florence at Riley Park in Sumter.

Camden Middle School will have football tryout for any 7th and 8th graders who are interested in playing on Aug. 11at 4pm. Students must have a physical and a concussion form filled out in order to tryout. Tryouts will wrap up by 7:00 and students can be picked up at the bus circle.

August 15th High school football returns to Kershaw County for the 2014 Camden Shrine Club Jamboree out at Zemp Stadium. Eight teams will compete in two ten minute quarters; in the first game starting at 6:30 Lee Central takes on Andrew Jackson. Then it’s North Central battling Buford followed by Lugoff Elgin versus A.C. Flora and in the night cap the Camden High Bulldogs host the Ridge View Blazers.
