Tip on Marijuana Plants Leads to Arrest for Cocaine and Weapons

On July 31, 2014 Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office narcotics investigators arrested Jonnifer Oneal Halley (33) who lives at 1326 Red Hill Rd. Camden, SC and charged him with trafficking in cocaine, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, manufacturing marijuana, felon in possession of a firearm and possession of a weapon during commission of a violent crime.

Acting on an anonymous tip Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office narcotics investigators went to Halley’s residence where they located marijuana plants growing in the back yard. Deputies questioned Halley about the plants and about marijuana they smelled when he opened the door to his residence. When deputies questioned Halley about the presence of weapons, Halley attempted to flee, but was apprehended following a brief struggle.

Deputies secured the residence and obtained a search warrant. During the subsequent search they located about ½ ounce of cocaine, 1/3 ounce of crack cocaine, 4 handguns, 3 marijuana plants, a small quantity of marijuana as well as suspected stolen property.

Halley was arrested and transported to the Kershaw County Detention Center. He was released on $112,000.00 bond.

Halley has previous arrests for numerous narcotics charges and has a conviction for trafficking cocaine. Additional charges may be pending.
